Privacy Policy

Introduction
Haul Technologies Pvt Ltd ("haul", "we", "our", "us") operates the haul platform, currently available only within our Bengaluru pilot area. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you browse or order on haul, how we use, share, and protect it, and the choices you have. You can browse parts of the platform without an account, but placing an order requires signing in. By visiting the platform, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Use; if you do not agree, please do not use haul.
Information We Collect
When you sign in, we collect your phone number or email and verify it with a one-time code — haul does not use passwords, so we never ask you to create or share one. When you place an order we collect your name, delivery address, and order details; if you pay online, our payment partner (Razorpay) collects and stores your card, UPI, or bank details directly — haul never sees or stores your full payment credentials, only the payment status and a reference id. We do not request or store government ID numbers such as Aadhaar or PAN, and we do not collect biometric data. With your device permission, we may use your location to show nearby shops and estimate delivery times, and we may send order-status notifications if you allow them.
Use of Personal Data
We use the information you provide — such as your name, contact details, delivery address, and order history — to fulfil your orders, coordinate pickup and delivery with the shop and rider, provide customer support, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the platform. If we ever use your data for marketing, you will always have a clear way to opt out, as described below.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as your delivery city, and understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. Some cookies are required for the platform to function (like staying signed in); others are optional and used only for basic analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect how well the platform works.
Sharing
We share data only as needed to fulfil your orders — for example, your name, address, and order details with the shop you are buying from and the rider delivering it, and payment information directly with our payment processor. We may disclose personal data to government or law enforcement authorities when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Links to Other Sites
The haul platform may link to third-party sites whose privacy practices we do not control; we encourage you to review their policies separately before sharing information with them.
Security Precautions
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — including encryption in transit and access controls on our systems — to protect your data, though no method of storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Because haul uses one-time codes rather than passwords, there is no stored password that can be leaked from your account; we will still never call, message, or email you asking for your one-time code, and you should treat any such request as suspicious and report it to support.
Choice / Opt-Out
You can opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe controls in those messages or by contacting support. Order-related and account-security messages are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while you hold an active account.
Data Deletion and Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable law — for example, order and payment records may be kept longer to meet tax and dispute-resolution obligations. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact support; we will confirm what can be deleted immediately and what must be retained temporarily for legal or dispute reasons.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and object to certain kinds of processing, by contacting us. We take reasonable steps to keep the data we hold about you accurate and up to date.
Consent
By creating an account and using haul, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this policy. If you provide someone else's information (for example, a delivery contact), you confirm you have their permission to do so.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be posted on this page along with a revised "last updated" date, and where required by law we will notify you directly.
